Dispersions
Animal Hybrid Project. For this project you will be combining three animals into one crazy creature. You should make your files 8" x 10" or 10" x 8" and 300 ppi/dpi. A few suggestions...Horns and Wings are more difficult that you think but done well can make for interesting images. Think about textures, scales, fur, spots, feathers etc and how they could blend. And for your final, think of an interesting way to showcase your animal. Use good composition and cropping to come up with a strong image.
Displacement Mapping - placing something on an object.

Vector Icons
Fantastical Portrait (images from student only) no web. Students should select from themes: InnerVision: how do you see the world in your mind or your dreams. AlternativePerspective: how can you show an idea from a unique point of view both literally and figuratively. Personal Identity: Who are you and what makes you tick? Documenting concept and execution for process and posting on their website.
Fantastical Portrait (images from web and student) You will be making a portrait for each person including one for yourself in some sort of fantasy, surreal, and crazy style. Do not simply cut out your portrait and paste it into a background/video game/movie still. (that is not even c level grade work!) Create, Create, Create!Come up with a concept or idea FIRST, then consider what sort of composition you wish to create, then assemble MULTIPLE DIFFERENT ASPECTS that you want to put together. Build something out of your mind and create a complete vision.

Color Theory Mandalas
Vector Landscapes. Create Two: one simple following our tutorial to work out "blocking", one from your own ideas with tons of details and skill.
Personal Logos. For this project you will be creating your own personal logo/brand. Using the techniques you have already learned you will be using illustrator in order to create a custom logo or logos for yourself. Think about how you want to be perceived (funny, professional, serious, adventurous etc). At least one of your images must incorporate the use of the type on a path tool in a circle to show that you understand the technique. (As demonstrated in the tutorial Logos should read without being turned upside down).
Vector Icons. You will create a series of themed vector icons. These can be any school appropriate theme you choose and should be done using one color plus black and white.

Displacement Mapping. Bending images/flat work onto a surface. Students were encouraged to work with their own photos of context rich images rather than internet examples.
Fence Repair and Creativity. Students were asked to use the Polygonal lasso tool, clone stamp tool, and some layer adjustments in order to create a seamless repair of the fence in the photo. Then create 3 creative examples showing how they can seamlessly composite other images into a realistic composition.
